SEASON FORMAT

Season 1 will run for 9 weeks in total and will include 8 teams.

All teams will play a total of 9 games across the season.

Weeks 1 to 7 will be the league stage.

During the league stage, every team will play each other once.

After all league stage matches have been completed, the top 4 teams on the table will qualify for the semi-finals.

Week 8 will be semi-final and placement week.

The semi-finals will be:

1st place vs 4th place

2nd place vs 3rd place

The winners of those semi-finals will progress to the Season 1 Grand Final.

The teams outside the top 4 will continue playing placement matches, so every team remains involved and still plays a full 9-game season.

Week 9 will be finals week.

The two semi-final winners will play in the Season 1 Grand Final.

The remaining teams will play final placement matches, which will help with grading and structure going into Season 2.

MATCH NIGHTS

Season 1 matches will be played on Monday nights at Gold Coast Sports Precinct.

Games will be scheduled between 7:30pm and 9:30pm.

WEATHER, VENUE CLOSURES & MISSED MATCHES

CPL will always try to complete the full 9-week season wherever possible.

If matches are unable to proceed due to rain, council direction, venue closure, ground conditions, or safety concerns, CPL will first try to reschedule the affected games where there is enough time, suitable venue availability, and approval from the venue or council.

Where possible, CPL may arrange a replacement fixture at Gold Coast Sports Precinct or another suitable venue.

However, rescheduled matches cannot be guaranteed. This depends on venue availability, season timing, council or venue approval, weather conditions, and player safety.

If a match is unable to proceed and CPL cannot reasonably reschedule it before the end of the season, CPL will arrange either a refund or credit for the missed match.

A credit may be applied towards a future CPL season or competition.

CPL will communicate any fixture changes, postponements, refunds, or credits to team captains as early as possible

TEAM & PLAYER EXPECTATIONS

Teams may bring a maximum of 9 players on match days.

Matching shirts are required as the minimum team standard.

Bibs will only be provided for kit colour clashes.

Only registered or CPL-approved players will be eligible to play.

All players must sign the CPL waiver before taking part.

Football is a contact sport and injuries can happen. All players participate at their own risk.

CPL operates a no slide tackles policy. Slide tackles are not permitted.

Players are expected to play competitively but safely, with respect for opponents, referees, CPL staff, spectators, and the venue.

CONDUCT

Teams are expected to respect referees, opposition players, CPL staff, spectators, and the venue.

Violent conduct, fighting, threats, referee abuse, or serious misconduct may result in removal from the competition.

PAYMENT

The team captain is responsible for collecting payment from their own players.

CPL does not collect individual player payments.

Any remaining team balance must be paid before the start of Game 2.

CONFIRMATION

By continuing with registration, the team captain confirms they understand the Season 1 format, match-night commitment, payment terms, and team expectations.
